An experienced psychotherapist offering psychotherapy and EFT couples therapy in Copenhagen
I am a certified psychotherapist (M.A.), the highest professional level recognised in both Denmark and England, and I work from my private practice in central Copenhagen as well as online.
For more than twenty years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families across multiple countries and cultural contexts. My work integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with a calm, grounded Danish presence.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have continued advanced training in couples therapy, supervision, and relational work. I am recently completed Master Class Further Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT therapy) for couples.
The importance of supervision
Good therapy begins with good supervision
I regularly meet with experienced senior psychotherapists in Denmark and abroad to reflect on my work, challenge my thinking, and continue developing my skills. This ongoing process supports the quality of my individual, couples, and family therapy, helping me offer thoughtful, ethical, and effective care.
My focus is simple: excellence, integrity, and impact.

What you need to know about my services
What happens during acute neurodiverse psychotherapy sessions?
We begin with grounding techniques tailored to your sensory and emotional profile. You learn to recognise early signs of overload and apply strategies to lower stress quickly.
Once calm returns, we explore what triggered the crisis and how to protect your wellbeing moving forward. Each session is clear, structured, and practical. You leave with tools that help you feel steady and capable again.
What happens during acute sessions
Acute therapy focuses on helping you find calm when life feels too fast, too loud, or simply too much. You may arrive in emotional overload, shutdown, or confusion after conflict, loss, or sensory overwhelm.
Together we slow down your inner process so that thoughts, emotions, and body signals begin to make sense again. I help you notice what your system is communicating and how to respond in ways that restore balance.
You leave each session with new clarity, concrete steps for self-regulation, and a sense that what once felt chaotic can be understood and managed.
My approach as your psychotherapist
I have worked for many years with clients on the autism and ADHD spectrum, as well as those who identify broadly within neurodiversity. My approach is structured, kind, and flexible enough to match your individual rhythm.
We combine emotion-focused and process-oriented methods that address both your emotional world and your sensory experience. Together, we find ways to translate your unique perception into strength rather than struggle.
In crisis work, I help you stay grounded, reflect clearly, and reconnect with your own sense of stability. The goal is to move from survival back to presence.
How your therapy process takes shape
We begin with what feels most urgent — what needs to calm down first. Once stability returns, we focus on understanding the deeper structure behind the crisis.
Some clients need only one or two sessions to restore direction. Others choose a short sequence to strengthen new coping skills and communication patterns.
Between sessions, I’ll guide you in applying what we discuss to daily life. You’ll start to recognise the early signals of stress and learn how to respond before crisis builds again.
Booking and payment for your urgent session
You can book your session online or ask me to call you directly. Acute appointments are often available within a day or two.
You can pay by invoice, bank transfer, card, cash, or MobilePay. All sessions are prepaid. Psychotherapy is exempt from VAT, and prices are shown without VAT on my prices page.
If you cancel more than seven days before a session, there is no fee. Cancellations within seven days or no-shows are charged in full. This applies to both in-person and online sessions.
Voucher or clip cards can be refunded at any time. Any sessions already used are recalculated at the full listed price at the time of return. The remaining unused sessions are then refunded, minus a 20 per cent administration fee. You can always request a call or contact me if you need help arranging anything quickly.

The anatomy of an acute neurodiverse crisis
A neurodiverse mind can process emotion, overload, and change in unique ways. When pressure builds too fast, clarity disappears and ordinary coping fails. In acute neurodiverse psychotherapy, I help you pause, regulate, and find solid ground again.
When the body signals overload
Your system may switch into shutdown or hyperfocus. I help you read those signals and bring your body back to balance through grounding and pacing.
When emotion feels unsafe
Overwhelm can feel like danger, not sadness. We create language to describe those sensations so fear turns into understanding.
When thoughts spiral
Overthinking is a common refuge in crisis. Together we slow your thinking, sort facts from fear, and make decisions step by step.

Thoughts about Acute neurodiverse psychotherapy
In acute neurodiverse family situations, it helps to pause and understand what kind of support is actually needed. Here I share how I think about this work, why meeting alone can be stabilising, and how clarity and containment come before change. This is about restoring orientation so the next steps are taken with steadiness rather than urgency.
When you face a sudden crisis as a neurodiverse adult
A crisis feels different when you are neurodiverse. Your system may become overloaded fast. Your thoughts may race or shut down. Your emotions may swing sharply or disappear into numbness. Your senses may feel too loud, too bright, or too intense to manage.
You may be dealing with:
- emotional overload
- stress that feels impossible to handle
- sudden shutdowns
- burnout symptoms
- panic or confusion
- social overwhelm
- conflict you do not know how to repair
- a sense that everything is too much
Acute neurodiverse psychotherapy gives you immediate support. We slow everything down so you can breathe, understand what is happening, and stabilise yourself with clarity and dignity.
How acute therapy helps you stabilise your mind and emotions
My goal is to help you feel grounded again. We bring your system back to a level where thinking becomes possible and emotions feel manageable.
Together we work on:
Slowing down your internal pace
We reduce the pressure so your thoughts and emotions stop racing.
Understanding your overload point
Creating sensory and emotional safety
Building simple steps you can follow now
You leave with a plan for the next hours and days.
Supporting your regulation between sessions
You can reach me on WhatsApp for brief guidance when needed.
This gives you stability fast, without forcing you to push beyond your limits.
How your attachment style interacts with neurodiversity
Attachment patterns become more visible in crisis, especially when your neurotype is under strain.
When anxiety pushes you forward
When avoidance makes you retreat
You may pull back when the emotional load feels too intense.
When mixed emotions feel confusing
When you are usually secure but overwhelmed
Even stable attachment becomes fragile when your system is at its limit.
Understanding these patterns helps you stop blaming yourself and start caring for yourself.
Why neurodiverse adults often need urgent support
Your nervous system processes stress differently from neurotypical systems. When pressure rises, you may hit your limit faster or more intensely. You may not know how to explain what is happening inside. You may feel ashamed of your reactions or scared that you cannot regain control.
You may also struggle with:
- feeling misunderstood in relationships
- masking until you collapse
- perfectionism and high self expectations
- shutdowns that others misinterpret as distance
- confusion around emotional signals
- difficulty asking for help
- fear of disappointing people
In crisis, these patterns can become overwhelming. You deserve support that understands your neurotype, not support that treats you as if you are broken.
What crisis looks like in a neurodiverse nervous system
Neurodiverse people experience crisis differently from neurotypical people. Once you understand your pattern, everything becomes easier to manage.
Emotional overload
Shutdown
Sensory overwhelm
You may feel attacked by noise, movement, light, or emotional intensity.
Mask collapse
If you have been holding everything together for too long, your ability to cope may suddenly collapse.
Social exhaustion
Even simple conversations may feel like too much when your system is overloaded.
These are not weaknesses. They are neurological signals asking for support.
How you reduce your stress during acute overload
You learn simple, practical steps that help you stabilise yourself.
Slowing the pace of your thoughts
Reducing sensory input
Using clear, simple self talk
Creating predictable steps
Structure helps you move through the crisis without fear.
These tools bring your system back into balance.
What you can change today
You can change:
- how you speak to yourself
- how you slow your thoughts
- how you create calm routines
- how you regulate sensory input
- how you manage communication
- how you set boundaries
These actions help you regain control without overwhelming yourself.
Here, therapy creates a structured space for truth, repair, and new patterns of respect and leadership at home. In intensive psychotherapy, each of these themes becomes an opening into deeper self-mastery.
The goal is not to diagnose or soften you. It is to help you meet yourself completely — and lead from a place of inner clarity that no success or failure can shake.

Acute neurodiverse psychotherapy
Stability first. Influence follows.
In acute neurodiverse family situations, progress does not come from trying harder or pushing others to change. It comes from understanding your own nervous system, limits, and points of influence. When you act from greater steadiness and clarity, the wider family system often begins to respond differently.
What cannot change immediately
Some things take time:
- your neurological thresholds
- your emotional processing style
- long standing stress patterns
- your depth of exhaustion
- the reactions of others
Acute therapy gives you stability while these deeper changes unfold.

Contact between sessions
During acute neurodiverse work, regulation often happens between sessions, not just inside them. You can send me a brief WhatsApp message if you need grounding or a quick reflection. These are short stabilising check ins, not full sessions, and they help you stay steady while your system recalibrates.

Everything you share stays private under GDPR and psychotherapy ethics. If I ever meet someone in your family or relationship separately, I do not confirm any connection. Only legal safety limits, such as immediate risk, override confidentiality.
Online sessions
If leaving home feels overwhelming or your sensory load is high, online sessions may fit better. We can meet on Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp video, or by phone. The calm, slow pace remains the same.

Frequently asked qustions
How fast can we book an acute session?
You can usually book within twenty four hours. I keep time available for people who feel overwhelmed by sudden emotional shifts, shutdowns or sensory overload. In our first session we stabilise your system, understand what triggered the crisis and help you take calmer and more grounded steps forward.
What happens in the first acute session?
The first session gives you structure when your inner world feels chaotic. We explore what set off the escalation, how your nervous system reacted and what you need right now to regain clarity. You leave with a calmer body, a clearer mind and a practical plan for the next hours and days.
Do you offer a free thirty minute call before we book?
Yes. You can use the call to describe what is happening and ask anything you need. Neurodiverse clients often feel unsure where to begin. The call helps you sense whether this approach feels safe so you can make a decision without pressure or fear.
Do you offer any discounts or voucher cards?
Yes. After your first paid session you receive a ten percent digital voucher that you can use toward your next booking. Acute moments are stressful enough without worrying about cost, so the voucher gives you a bit more space to continue when things still feel tender.
Do you offer online sessions if travelling feels too stressful?
Yes. Online sessions work well when you feel overloaded or unable to manage the journey. The screen gives you fast access to support so you can settle your system, understand the crisis and take steps that reduce pressure on your mind and body.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. Everything you share stays private. Neurodiverse crises can bring shame, confusion or emotional overload. You need a space where you can speak honestly without judgement. Confidentiality gives you the safety required to settle and understand what is happening inside you.
What happens after the acute phase?
Once the intensity softens we look at what you need next. Some people continue weekly. Others move into neurodiverse couples or family work later. You choose the pace. My role is to support you in finding a path that brings stability and long term emotional clarity.
Can we book evenings or weekends?
Yes. Acute neurodiverse distress often emerges outside normal hours. I offer flexible times so you do not need to wait days while the situation intensifies. Meeting quickly helps you calm your system and avoid decisions driven by panic or shutdown.
Can we speak with you in English if we are an international family?
Yes. Many international clients come to me during acute neurodiverse distress. Living abroad can make emotional overwhelm harder. I help you understand your reactions, reduce confusion and take steps that support your wellbeing even when you feel far from home.
What if I feel ashamed that I cannot cope right now?
This is common. Neurodiverse systems can become overwhelmed quickly, especially under stress. I help you understand the reaction without blame. The goal is not to judge yourself but to learn what your system needs. When shame softens, clarity and strength return.

More common FAQs
What if I have tried therapy before and it did not help?
Many neurodiverse clients have had disappointing experiences with therapy that moved too fast or misunderstood their needs. Acute neurodiverse work is slower and clearer. I help you understand your emotional patterns so you finally feel seen rather than pressured or pathologised.
Can acute therapy help during shutdown or emotional paralysis?
Yes. Shutdown is a response to overload, not a failure. I help you understand the trigger, calm your system and take steps that reduce pressure. When safety returns, your ability to think, speak and feel comes back naturally. You leave with tools you can use in future crises.
Can this help if I am suddenly unable to communicate clearly?
Is this the right service if my emotions escalated without warning?
Yes. Neurodiverse systems can shift states quickly. I help you understand the build up, the moment of escalation and what you need now to settle. You gain clarity about your internal landscape so you can prevent future crises rather than fear them.
What if I feel desperate to regain control of myself?
Desperation often makes things worse. I help you slow down, steady your breathing and understand the emotional and sensory load behind your distress. You leave with a grounded plan for regaining stability without forcing yourself into states your system cannot hold.
Can we book more than one acute session this week?
Yes. Neurodiverse crises can require more than one meeting to stabilise. We can meet again later in the week so you can regain clarity, avoid decisions made from panic and build enough steadiness to move forward with confidence.
Which related services should I consider after this one?
You may want to explore neurodiverse couples therapy Copenhagen or neurodiverse family therapy Copenhagen if your situation includes relational stress. Others continue alone with neurodiverse psychotherapy. Together we choose the direction that supports your long term wellbeing.
What if I feel alone in managing my neurodiversity?
Feeling alone is common when you mask or work hard to appear stable. I help you understand your inner world so you can stop fighting yourself and begin supporting your system with clarity and compassion. You gain tools that protect your wellbeing in daily life.
How do I know if I should move into full neurodiverse psychotherapy?
You will feel it once the crisis softens and you want deeper understanding of your inner landscape. I help you judge the timing so the work feels safe rather than overwhelming. You guide the pace. I support the structure as your clarity grows.
How do I know when it is time to end therapy?
You know it is time when your nervous system remains steady even during stress, when you understand your internal signals and when you can navigate difficult moments without spiralling into overwhelm. Ending therapy means you trust your inner footing again.
