An experienced psychotherapist offering psychotherapy and EFT couples therapy in Copenhagen
I am a certified psychotherapist (M.A.), the highest professional level recognised in both Denmark and England, and I work from my private practice in central Copenhagen as well as online.
For more than twenty years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families across multiple countries and cultural contexts. My work integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with a calm, grounded Danish presence.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have continued advanced training in couples therapy, supervision, and relational work. I am recently completed Master Class Further Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT therapy) for couples.
The importance of supervision
Good therapy begins with good supervision
I regularly meet with experienced senior psychotherapists in Denmark and abroad to reflect on my work, challenge my thinking, and continue developing my skills. This ongoing process supports the quality of my individual, couples, and family therapy, helping me offer thoughtful, ethical, and effective care.
My focus is simple: excellence, integrity, and impact.

What you need to know about my services
What happens during acute neurodiverse couples therapy sessions?
I guide you through focused steps for emotional regulation, body awareness, and communication repair. You will learn to pause, recognise sensory overload, and speak in clearer language that bridges your neurotype differences.
Each session builds calm and clarity. You leave with specific tools to prevent escalation and to reconnect from a steadier place.
My approach as your couples therapist
I help couples find calm and connection in moments that feel impossible. My approach combines Emotion-focused couples therapy, systemic awareness, and process-oriented techniques that support both partners equally.
Having worked with many neurodiverse couples, I understand how differences in communication, empathy, and sensory processing can create tension and misunderstanding. I help you turn those differences into shared insight.
The work is gentle but precise. It helps each of you feel safe enough to speak honestly and listen without defence. That is where healing begins.
Booking and payment for urgent sessions
You can book your session online or ask me to call you directly. Acute appointments are often available within a day or two.
You can pay by invoice, bank transfer, card, cash, or MobilePay. All sessions are prepaid. Psychotherapy is exempt from VAT, and prices are shown without VAT on my prices page.
If you cancel more than seven days before a session, there is no fee. Cancellations within seven days or no-shows are charged in full. This applies to both in-person and online sessions.
Voucher or clip cards can be refunded at any time. Any sessions already used are recalculated at the full listed price at the time of return. The remaining unused sessions are then refunded, minus a 20 per cent administration fee. You can always request a call or contact me if you need help arranging anything quickly.
What happens during acute sessions
In an acute session, we work with what feels unbearable right now. It might be silence, conflict, withdrawal, or emotional overload. Together we slow everything down so you can both speak, listen, and think again.

How your therapy process takes shape
Acute therapy starts with stabilisation. We meet to manage the immediate crisis and make sure communication becomes safe again. Some couples find one or two sessions enough. Others continue for a few weeks to strengthen what they have rebuilt.

The anatomy of a neurodiverse couple in crisis
When partners process life differently, stress can turn love into confusion. A tone of voice, a forgotten detail, or an unexpected demand can ignite conflict. We examine what truly drives these moments and how to steady the bond again.
When understanding breaks
Intentions get lost in translation. I help you slow down and re-establish clarity so both partners feel heard.
When safety slips away
Predictability restores peace. We create routines that protect both of you from emotional overload.
When emotions take over
Meltdowns, shutdowns, or sharp words often mask fear. Together we name what happens and learn to signal distress safely.

Thoughts about Acute neurodiverse couples therapy
In acute neurodiverse couple situations, it can be helpful to pause and clarify what kind of support is actually needed. Here I outline how I approach this work, why meeting together or individually can be stabilising, and why clarity and emotional containment come before change. This is about restoring orientation so the next steps are taken with steadiness rather than urgency.
When a neurodiverse relationship enters crisis
A crisis inside a neurodiverse relationship can grow fast and feel overwhelming. You may face sharp misunderstandings, sudden shutdowns, emotional overload, or long periods of distance. You may feel confused, disconnected, or frightened by how quickly things can escalate.
You may notice:
- Conversations collapse without warning
- Emotions rise faster than either of you can control
- One of you shuts down while the other reaches out
- Sensory overload makes communication difficult
- Literal interpretations create confusion
- Tension turns into silence or conflict
Acute neurodiverse couples therapy gives both of you a structured and grounded space where you can slow the crisis, understand what is happening, and rebuild clarity and connection.
How acute therapy helps neurodiverse couples find stability
Crisis therapy is not about blame. It is about understanding what your nervous systems are trying to protect. You learn how to communicate with less intensity and more clarity, so both of you feel safe enough to stay present.
Together we work on:
Slowing the emotional pace
We reduce intensity so both of you can stay grounded and involved in the conversation.
Understanding the neurotype differences
You learn why each of you reacts the way you do. This brings relief and reduces confusion.
Creating simple communication steps
You learn short, clear sentences that reduce overwhelm and strengthen understanding.
Supporting both emotional and sensory safety
We create a space where both of you can talk without feeling pressured, attacked, or misunderstood.
Building a structure for the next steps
You leave knowing what to do next, how to talk, and how to de escalate conflict at home. This gives the relationship room to breathe again.
What you both learn in acute neurodiverse couples therapy
You learn simple, practical skills that fit both of your neurotypes.
Speaking at a calm, steady pace
Both of you stay regulated when communication slows down.
Short sentences with clear meaning
This reduces overwhelm and misunderstanding.
Predictable timing for important conversations
Talking at the right moment prevents shutdowns.
Boundaries that bring stability instead of fear
You learn to protect yourselves while staying connected. These skills reduce conflict and rebuild trust.
Why you may need urgent support as a neurodiverse couple
Neurodiverse relationships often carry a unique mix of strengths and challenges. You may love each other deeply but struggle with communication, emotional pacing, sensory thresholds, or different expectations. During a crisis, these differences can collide and create fear or shutdown on both sides.
You come to therapy because you want to understand each other better. You want to reduce the tension and find a way to talk without breaking down. You want support before the situation grows too painful to repair.
How neurodiversity shapes a crisis between you
Neurodiversity changes the way emotion, communication, and stress move between partners. Once you understand the pattern, it becomes easier to repair the connection.
Sensory overload and shutdown
One or both of you may withdraw because the emotional or sensory intensity feels too much.
Differences in processing speed
One partner may need more time to understand or respond, while the other moves faster and feels ignored.
Literal communication
Emotional nuance may get lost, leading to misunderstandings that neither of you intended.
Emotional mismatch
One partner may seek closeness while the other needs space to regulate.
When both of you understand these differences, stability returns.
Understanding your attachment patterns in a neurodiverse crisis
When anxiety creates intensity
One of you may pursue closeness quickly, trying to solve the problem with urgency.
When avoidance creates distance
The other may pull back because the emotional load feels too heavy.
When emotions feel mixed or unclear
One of you may reach out and then retreat because you do not feel safe enough to stay open.
When secure patterns become stressed
Even stable relationships can lose balance when the mismatch becomes too strong.
Attachment awareness brings compassion and reduces blame.
What you can change together right now
You can both influence:
- Your tone
- Your pacing
- Your timing
- Your emotional presence
- Your willingness to pause
- Your awareness of sensory and emotional load
These changes create safety and connection even during crisis.
Here, therapy creates a structured space for truth, repair, and new patterns of respect and leadership at home. In intensive psychotherapy, each of these themes becomes an opening into deeper self-mastery.
The goal is not to diagnose or soften you. It is to help you meet yourself completely — and lead from a place of inner clarity that no success or failure can shake.

Frequently asked questions
How fast can we book an acute session?
You can usually book within twenty four hours. Acute mixed neurotype situations often involve sudden shutdowns, intense misunderstandings or emotional overload. Meeting quickly helps stabilise both nervous systems so you can prevent further rupture and approach each other with more clarity.
What happens in the first acute session?
We slow the emotional pace and explore the moment that triggered the crisis. You both learn how sensory overload, communication gaps and emotional misfires contributed to the escalation. You leave with clarity, direction and tools that create immediate relief.
Do you offer a free thirty minute call before we book?
Yes. Acute neurodiverse dynamics can feel overwhelming, and the call gives you space to describe the rupture and sense whether the acute format feels safe. It helps both partners make a grounded choice instead of acting from fear.
Do you offer any discounts or voucher cards?
Yes. After your first paid session you receive a ten percent digital voucher. Acute neurodiverse couples often need close follow up, and the voucher supports you during an emotionally demanding phase.
Do you offer online sessions if attending in person is difficult?
Yes. Online acute sessions work very well for mixed neurotype couples, especially when travel, sensory overload or emotional exhaustion make it hard to leave home. The screen gives you fast, steady support.
Are sessions confidential with both of us present?
Yes. Everything shared stays in the room. Acute moments often involve shame, fear, masking or miscommunication. Confidentiality gives you both the safety to speak honestly without judgement.
Can this help even if the crisis is rooted in neurodiverse overwhelm?
Can we book evenings or weekends?
Yes. Acute ruptures often appear outside standard hours. I offer flexible availability so you can meet quickly, reduce tension and avoid re escalation while emotions are still raw.
Can we speak with you in English if we are an international couple?
Yes. Many neurodiverse couples navigating crisis come from different cultures or languages. We slow communication down so each partner feels understood and no one is blamed for differences in processing or expression.
What if one partner shut down, walked away or went silent?
Shutdown is usually overload, not rejection. We explore what triggered it, how to respond without increasing pressure and how to rebuild safety so communication can return without force.

More common FAQs
What if misunderstandings escalate at a speed neither of us can control?
This is very common in mixed neurotype couples. We break the moment down step by step so each partner understands what the other heard, missed or misread. You leave with tools that stop escalation quickly.
What if we have tried couples therapy before and it did not help?
Many neurodiverse couples felt misunderstood in previous therapy. Standard approaches often overlook pacing differences, sensory needs and shutdown cycles. Acute neurodiverse work is tailored to your specific pattern so the support feels clearer and more effective.
What if there is still love but the dynamic feels unsafe?
This is a common acute scenario. Love is present, but the emotional pattern is overwhelming. We stabilise the cycle, rebuild safety and help you reconnect without fear or pressure.
Can this help if intimacy collapsed after the rupture?
Yes. Intimacy breaks when emotional safety collapses. We explore what caused the break and how to restore the connection slowly so closeness can return naturally and without force.
Can this help if one partner carries most of the emotional responsibility?
Yes. This is often the underlying issue in mixed neurotype couples. We explore how this role formed and how to rebalance it so neither partner collapses under the emotional load.
Can we book more than one acute session close together?
Yes. Many couples choose two sessions in the same week when the dynamic feels fragile. This stabilises the system faster and prevents small triggers from turning into new ruptures.
How will we know if the acute work is helping?
What if conflict keeps looping in the same predictable cycle?
Should we consider ongoing neurodiverse couples therapy after the acute phase?
Often yes. Once the immediate crisis stabilises, you can decide whether deeper work is needed. I help you sense the right timing so you enter ongoing therapy from strength, not fear.
How do we know when it is time to end therapy?
You know it is time when communication feels steadier, conflicts soften and both partners can manage tension without slipping into shutdown or escalation. Ending therapy means you trust your rhythm again and no longer need immediate support.
