In this short video, I explain how I structure weekend psychotherapy for people whose international lives require focused, carefully planned work.

Weekend expat psychotherapy Copenhagen is focused sessions arranged across a weekend when weekday therapy is impractical for individuals.
I was born and raised in England and Denmark and, as an adult, have moved to, lived in and worked in nine countries. I understand both the cultural context and the practical demands of international lives.
You can request a free discovery call, book a session with me or review therapy discounts and structured plans.
The reviews shown here are shared by clients who have worked with me in therapy and chosen to reflect on their experience. They are collected via Google and displayed through an independent verification service, offering an open and transparent picture of how my work is experienced.
I am a certified psychotherapist (M.A.), the highest professional level recognised in both Denmark and England, and I work from my private practice in central Copenhagen as well as online.
For more than twenty years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families across multiple countries and cultural contexts. My work integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with a calm, grounded Danish presence.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have continued advanced training in couples therapy, supervision, and relational work. I am recently completed Master Class Further Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT therapy) for couples.
I regularly meet with experienced senior psychotherapists in Denmark and abroad to reflect on my work, challenge my thinking, and continue developing my skills. This ongoing process supports the quality of my individual, couples, and family therapy, helping me offer thoughtful, ethical, and effective care.
My focus is simple: excellence, integrity, and impact.

You need substantial therapeutic movement, but an ordinary weekly schedule does not fit your location, workload or current circumstances.
You need this service when your emotional life, identity and way of functioning abroad requires more continuity than isolated appointments can provide. A demanding international schedule is not a reason to postpone work that has become necessary.
In more than 21 years of practice, I have learned that concentrated therapy must be carefully paced rather than simply made longer. I assess what can be worked with responsibly, define the purpose of each session and tell you when another format would serve you better.
You may be replaying conversations, anticipating disaster or trying to solve the same problem late into the night. The more urgently you search for certainty, the less able you feel to rest, concentrate or choose.
I will help you separate what is happening now from what fear is predicting. We will identify the decisions that belong to today and reduce the pressure to solve your entire future at once.
Fear, anger, grief or shame may arrive so quickly that you no longer trust what you will say or do. You may be holding everything in until you suddenly break down, withdraw or react in a way that frightens you.
I will help you understand what the emotion is responding to and contain it without dismissing it. The aim is not to make you numb. It is to restore enough choice that the feeling no longer controls the next moment.
Acute distress does not always look dramatic. You may feel blank, detached or unable to care about decisions that would normally matter, while everyday demands continue around you.
I take this loss of access to yourself seriously. I will help you reduce unnecessary pressure, understand what your system is protecting you from and begin reconnecting with what you need.
A breakup, betrayal, ultimatum or sudden conflict can make your entire life feel unstable. You may be pulled between reaching for the other person, protecting yourself and making decisions before you can think clearly.
I will help you establish what is known, what remains uncertain and what you should not decide under pressure. If the work needs both partners, we can consider whether couples therapy in Copenhagen is the right next step.
Bereavement, illness, relocation, redundancy or another abrupt change can remove the structure that helped you feel like yourself. You may be functioning outwardly while privately struggling to absorb what has happened.
I will help you make room for the reality of the loss without allowing every part of life to collapse around it. We will identify what needs support now and what can wait until you have more capacity.
You may be missing deadlines, dreading messages or using all your energy to appear capable. Rest no longer restores you, yet stopping feels impossible because too much depends on you.
I will help you assess the situation honestly and decide what must change. That may include immediate boundaries, difficult conversations or a structured plan that protects both your health and the responsibilities that genuinely matter.
If the crisis is active now, request a call or book a session so that we can establish what kind of immediate support you need.

Closely scheduled sessions let us stay with the work long enough to understand the pattern, make changes and review what happens next.
Acute psychotherapy helps you move from being caught inside the crisis to seeing its structure. I listen for what has happened, what is keeping the distress active and what needs to change first.
My work is direct, compassionate and practical. I will tell you what I think, help you test what is true and make sure that insight leads to decisions you can use outside the therapy room.
A crisis rarely comes from one event alone. It often reflects an immediate trigger landing on pressure, loss or conflict that has been building for longer than you realised.
I will help you identify the trigger, the accumulated strain and the meaning you have attached to what happened. This gives us a precise starting point instead of treating every part of your life as equally urgent.
Relief is important, but calming down should not require you to deny a genuine problem. You need enough steadiness to face the situation accurately and respond in a way you can respect later.
I will help you regulate the immediate intensity while keeping the underlying issue in view. We work toward calm that supports action, not calm that asks you to tolerate what should change.
When you are distressed, possibilities can feel like facts and harsh judgments can sound convincing. You may assume the worst about your future or make yourself responsible for everything that has gone wrong.
I will question conclusions that are not supported and help you recognise what is actually yours to address. Clearer thinking makes it possible to act without being driven by panic, guilt or imagined certainty.
Urgency can push you toward abrupt choices or keep you frozen between options. Both reactions make sense, but neither should decide your future without careful examination.
I will help you identify the decision, its real deadline and the consequences of each option. Where possible, we create a smaller next step that protects your position while you gather the clarity you still need.
You may need to speak with a partner, family member, employer or doctor while your emotions are still close to the surface. Avoiding the conversation can increase the pressure, while entering it unprepared can make matters worse.
I will help you decide what you need to say, what you are asking for and which boundaries must be clear. We can prepare language that is honest without becoming attacking, apologetic or vague.
The immediate crisis may settle within one or a few sessions, but the patterns it exposed can deserve more deliberate attention. You should leave acute work knowing whether further therapy would genuinely serve you.
I will give you a clear professional recommendation. That may mean stopping, continuing with structured individual psychotherapy in Copenhagen or using a therapy discount or bundle for safety and continuity in a planned structure.

Weekend does not mean relentless therapy. I plan the timing, breaks and intensity around what you can use productively.
We begin by deciding what the intensive must address and how much concentrated time is appropriate. I will not prescribe a standard package before understanding the problem, your schedule and your emotional capacity.
The plan may include several sessions on one day, consecutive days, appointments distributed across one week or a weekend intensive. Online, in-person and combined formats can be considered.
Same-day sessions preserve momentum when travel, work or urgency makes weekly appointments impractical.
I build in deliberate breaks so you can eat, walk, rest and absorb what has emerged before continuing.
Consecutive-day sessions allow overnight reflection without losing the thread of the work.
I review your response each day and adjust the next session rather than following a rigid programme.
Several appointments across one week offer continuity while leaving time for practice and ordinary responsibilities.
This format works well when you need momentum without multiple sessions in a single day.
A weekend intensive protects the work from professional commitments, school runs and competing weekday calendars.
Weekend availability is planned individually, including session blocks, breaks and any preparation beforehand.
More hours are not automatically better. Concentrated work must respect concentration, regulation and emotional capacity.
I monitor the quality of the work and slow down, pause or change the schedule when that is clinically responsible.
An intensive should connect to what happens after the final concentrated session.
We decide whether you need follow-up, structured individual psychotherapy, long-term couples therapy or no further appointments.
It is a concentrated series of closely scheduled sessions rather than conventional weekly therapy.
The schedule is designed around the work, your capacity and practical availability.
Yes. We can schedule more than one session in a day when that format is appropriate.
Restorative breaks are planned, so weekend does not mean continuous therapy without recovery.
Yes. Consecutive days preserve momentum while allowing overnight reflection.
I review how you are responding and adjust the following day accordingly.
Yes. Several sessions can be distributed across a single week.
This offers continuity without requiring a full day or weekend.
Yes, subject to individual planning and availability.
Weekend intensives suit busy professionals, parents, travelling clients and couples coordinating two schedules.
Yes. It may be online, in person or use a combination of both.
I recommend the format that best supports privacy, concentration and the work itself.
There is no responsible standard answer before I understand your situation and goal.
I recommend a schedule, explain why and review it as the intensive progresses.
They should not be. Concentrated work must respect your limits and ability to integrate.
I plan breaks, monitor your response and change the pace when more therapy would no longer be useful.
