An experienced psychotherapist offering psychotherapy and EFT couples therapy in Copenhagen

I am a certified psychotherapist (M.A.), the highest professional level recognised in both Denmark and England, and I work from my private practice in central Copenhagen as well as online.

For more than twenty years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families across multiple countries and cultural contexts. My work integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with a calm, grounded Danish presence.

Alongside my clinical practice, I have continued advanced training in couples therapy, supervision, and relational work. I am recently completed Master Class Further Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT therapy) for couples.

The importance of supervision

Good therapy begins with good supervision

I regularly meet with experienced senior psychotherapists in Denmark and abroad to reflect on my work, challenge my thinking, and continue developing my skills. This ongoing process supports the quality of my individual, couples, and family therapy, helping me offer thoughtful, ethical, and effective care.

My focus is simple: excellence, integrity, and impact.

What happens during intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone sessions?

We focus on precision and practice. You learn how neurotype differences shape timing, tone, and body response. We use structured exercises to transform reactivity into curiosity.

You gain skills for regulation, empathy, and clearer communication. Each block of work builds momentum and insight. By the end, you understand how to meet your partner from steadiness rather than defence.

My approach as your psychotherapist

In intensive work, I stay close to what unfolds moment by moment. My task is to help you meet the complexity of your inner world with structure and care.

I combine emotion-focused, systemic, and process-oriented therapy, informed by two decades of clinical experience. I’ve worked with many clients navigating neurodiversity within themselves and their families. Together, we explore how your unique patterns of attention, emotion, and communication shape your relationships.

You’ll learn to recognise subtle signals that others may miss — shifts in tone, focus, or pace — and how to use them as guides toward understanding and connection. The aim is not to fix your neurodiversity, but to integrate it as a source of strength.

Full money-back guarantee on your first session

If during the first half of your first session you feel the fit isn’t right, I refund the full amount immediately in that same meeting.

This guarantee allows you to begin without pressure or financial risk. You can experience how I work, sense how it feels in your body and nervous system, and decide early on whether this is the right support for you.

If you want to read the full terms and reasoning behind my money back guarantee in Copenhagen, please do so here.

Therapy requires trust. My commitment is that even your first session is held with clarity, safety, professionalism, and respect.

What happens during intensive sessions

An intensive session is a concentrated space for change. We work deeply, staying with what matters most until clarity appears.

You bring your current challenges — conflicts, emotional overload, or communication blocks — and we slow them down enough to see their structure. Together, we trace reactions to their origins and open new ways of responding.

We move between insight, embodiment, and practice. You leave each session with a clear understanding of what shifted and concrete ways to apply that awareness in real family interactions. This is work that invites transformation through presence, not pressure.

How your intensive program takes shape

Each intensive process begins with a clear agreement about your goals, capacity, and timing. There is no fixed formula. The structure adapts to your needs and how you process emotion and information.

Some clients prefer full days of work; others choose shorter sessions across a few consecutive days. Between meetings, you’ll apply what you’ve discovered in real life, then return with new insight for deeper integration.

The rhythm of the work is immersive yet measured — designed to help awareness translate into behaviour, and behaviour into change. Over time, your perspective expands, and the system around you begins to shift.

Which ethical frameworks I follow

I work under the professional standards of psychotherapy in both Denmark and the UK. These ensure that all sessions take place within clear, safe, and transparent boundaries.

I follow the ethical codes of:

These principles guarantee confidentiality, respect, and professional integrity. They protect your privacy and the quality of our work.

You can expect honesty and accountability from the first contact to the last session. My role is to keep our work steady and ethical even when life feels chaotic.

The anatomy of an intensive neurodiverse couple process

When two people live with different neurotypes, love can feel like constant translation. One partner needs silence; the other needs words. An intensive format lets us pause daily demands and work deeply on what happens between you.

When communication breaks down

What began as a small misunderstanding can grow into days of distance. I help you see what lies beneath — missed cues, sensory overload, or competing regulation needs — so understanding can return.

When trust feels fragile

Repeated misfires in empathy can feel like rejection. We slow down until both of you feel seen. Safety comes from predictable rhythm, not perfection.

When emotions run hot or cold

Intensity can swing fast. One withdraws while the other pursues. In therapy we balance those rhythms and bring calm back to your connection.

How Intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone supports you in crisis

Clear information, steady structure, and support you can orient by.

Below, I describe how I offer intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone at Møntergade. My aim is to give you clarity about the process, so you feel steady, informed, and supported before taking the next step.

A calm space where difference feels understood

Here there is no judgement and no rush. I adapt the session flow to both partners’ styles and sensory needs. You can think, pause, and speak safely without fear of misunderstanding. Real connection begins when both of you feel accepted exactly as you are.

My approach as a therapist for neurodiverse couple dynamics

Intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone gives you space and time to work in depth on your part of the relationship. When two nervous systems operate differently, even small misunderstandings can spiral quickly. My task is to slow that rhythm so you can see what really happens between you.

We meet for longer or closely spaced sessions that allow reflection, regulation, and genuine emotional repair. I bring structure, calm, and experience from emotion-focused and systemic therapy. Together we translate difference into understanding so that safety and intimacy can return.

How couples therapy alone works in intensive settings

You attend alone to explore your reactions and needs without pressure or defence. Insight begins here — in the space where you can look at yourself honestly.

Bringing nuance to emotions

Neurodiverse relationships often involve distinct emotional languages. We identify how sensory overload, timing, or processing differences shape communication and connection.

My role as your therapist

I guide with clarity and empathy. I name patterns as they appear so you can recognise them in real time and choose new ways to engage. My stance is neutral yet deeply invested in helping you find steadiness.

How I work with partners in crisis

Intensive work helps you move from survival to mutual understanding.

First sessions

We begin by mapping the most painful moments — shutdowns, arguments, or disconnection — and stabilising emotions so reflection becomes possible.

Experiencing attachment styles

You learn how your attachment history interacts with your partner’s, revealing why certain triggers feel so personal.

A personalised approach for your family

Each partnership has its own pace and capacity. We adapt structure, breaks, and exercises to your emotional and sensory needs.

Supporting growth over time

By the end, you can regulate more quickly, communicate more clearly, and bring renewed confidence to the relationship you share.

Understanding patterns and emotions

We uncover how frustration or fear shape your actions and how awareness can turn tension into trust.

Common crises I help couples with from Møntergade

You may recognise your own relationship in some of these patterns.

In my Copenhagen practice, I often meet partners who love each other deeply yet feel trapped in miscommunication. When neurodiverse and neurotypical ways of thinking meet, emotional signals can clash even when intentions are good.

When communication breaks down

  • Conversations loop or end in frustration
  • Emotional tone is misread or taken literally
  • One partner retreats to think, the other pushes to talk
  • Small misunderstandings escalate into hours of silence

Together, we slow the pace, translate meaning, and rebuild emotional safety between neurotypes.

When emotional needs differ

  • One partner needs more space, the other more closeness
  • Sensory or social fatigue causes tension after small events
  • Physical intimacy becomes pressured or confusing
  • Emotional withdrawal is misinterpreted as rejection

Therapy helps you decode these differences and replace blame with understanding

When trust weakens

  • Emotional shutdown after repeated conflict
  • Fear of being misunderstood or criticised
  • Suspicion, resentment, or guilt building over time
  • Feeling like you must choose between self-care and closeness

In intensive work, we use longer sessions to rebuild trust through direct experience of safety.

When burnout takes over

  • Daily stress and masking deplete your energy
  • One partner becomes the organiser, the other withdraws
  • The relationship feels functional but not alive

Our focused, back-to-back sessions allow you to reset emotionally and learn how to reconnect from a calmer state.

From my experience, neurodiverse couples are not broken — they are learning to speak across different emotional languages.

In intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone, I help you rebuild safety, empathy, and partnership that honours both of your nervous systems.

Thoughts about Intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone

Clarity before action, and support before solutions.

In moments of acute strain within a neurodiverse relationship, it helps to pause and understand what kind of support is truly needed. Here I explain how I approach intensive couples therapy alone, why meeting individually can be stabilising, and how clarity and structure come before meaningful change. The aim is to restore direction so your next steps are taken with steadiness rather than urgency.

When your neurodiverse relationship is in crisis and you must begin alone

When your partner is not ready for therapy or feels overwhelmed by the idea of it, you may find yourself standing alone with the responsibility to steady the relationship. This is especially common in neurodiverse couples, where emotional processing speeds, sensory needs, and communication styles differ sharply.

You may feel confused, exhausted, or stuck in a cycle you cannot break. You may want clarity, direction, and a structured way to understand the emotional patterns between you.

Intensive neurodiverse couples therapy alone gives you several hours of concentrated support across one or two days. You get the space to understand the dynamic deeply, stabilise yourself, and learn how to create positive change even before your partner steps into the room.

How intensives help you stabilise your emotions and your relationship

You cannot fix a neurodiverse relationship by trying harder or explaining more. You need structure, clarity, and a deep understanding of your patterns.

In an intensive, we work on:

Slowing down your internal pace

You learn how to stay grounded when emotions rise.

Understanding the neurodiverse cycle

You see how sensory overload, shutdowns, and emotional reactions move between you.

Mapping triggers and overload points

You learn where things break down and why.

Rebuilding safety through simple steps

You learn tools that reduce escalation and restore calm.

Creating a clear plan for communication

You leave with predictable steps that match neurodiverse processing styles. This gives you stability fast and a clear way forward.

Your attachment style inside the neurodiverse relationship

Attachment and neurodiversity interact. This can create powerful emotional patterns.

When anxiety makes you pursue

You may chase reassurance fast when you feel unsafe.

When avoidance makes you retreat

You may withdraw when the emotional load becomes too much.

When mixed emotions overwhelm you

You may want closeness but feel unsure how to stay grounded inside it.

When secure patterns break under stress

Even stable bonds struggle when the nervous system is overloaded.
Understanding attachment gives you compassion for your reactions and stops self blame.

How to reduce overload in the relationship

You learn steps that make daily interactions calmer.

Creating predictable communication

Predictability helps neurodiverse systems relax.

Reducing emotional pressure

We slow conversations so they feel safe.

Managing sensory triggers

You learn how to reduce the cues that escalate conflict.

Protecting your internal space

You learn boundaries that help you stay present without feeling pulled apart.
These steps help both partners feel safer, even if only one partner attends therapy.

Why intensive work helps neurodiverse couples faster

Neurodiverse relationships often face more intense stress points and communication challenges. Weekly sessions may feel too slow when the pressure at home is rising. Intensives help you gain clarity, calm, and direction without waiting.

You may choose this format because:

  • Your partner shuts down fast
  • You feel overstimulated or overwhelmed
  • Conflict escalates before you can slow it
  • You cannot predict emotional reactions
  • You mask until you collapse
  • Your partner avoids difficult conversations
  • You carry the emotional responsibility alone
  • The relationship needs urgent support

An intensive gives you uninterrupted time to understand the dynamic and change your part of the cycle.

Understanding the neurodiverse couple dynamic

Neurodiverse couples often have a unique emotional cycle that is not visible at first glance. In an intensive, we map the structure so you can see it clearly.

Sensory overload

Strong emotions, noise, or pressure can overwhelm one or both partners.

Shutdowns

When overwhelmed, a partner may become silent, distant, or emotionally unavailable.

Mask collapse

If you have been holding everything together, you may suddenly feel unable to cope.

Emotional intensity

Small tensions can turn into big reactions when the system is overloaded.

Miscommunication

You may misunderstand each other’s intentions due to different processing speeds.
Once the pattern is visible, the crisis becomes easier to understand and manage.

What a typical intensive session looks like

Intensive work usually takes place over one or two consecutive days. This gives you momentum and emotional space.

Session one

We stabilise your system. You learn what is happening in the relationship and why you feel so overwhelmed.

Session two

We map the neurodiverse cycle clearly. You understand both emotional and sensory triggers.

Session three

We build communication tools and boundaries that protect both you and the relationship.
Each intensive is designed for your specific neurotype, pace, and capacity.

What you can change alone

You can change:

  • How you respond during conflict
  • How you communicate
  • How you regulate yourself
  • How you set boundaries
  • How you interpret your partner’s reactions
  • How you create emotional safety

These changes have a strong effect on the entire dynamic.

Here, therapy creates a structured space for truth, repair, and new patterns of respect and leadership at home. In intensive psychotherapy, each of these themes becomes an opening into deeper self-mastery.

The goal is not to diagnose or soften you. It is to help you meet yourself completely — and lead from a place of inner clarity that no success or failure can shake.

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers to help you decide whether therapy is right for you.

How fast can I book an intensive start date?

You can usually begin within a few days. Many people reach out when the neurodiverse and neurotypical dynamic feels too overwhelming to face alone. The intensive format gives you continuity so we can stabilise your system, understand the deeper pattern and begin shifting it without long breaks between sessions.

What happens in the first intensive session?

The first session sets the emotional foundation for the work. We explore what has been happening between you and your partner, how each nervous system responds under stress and what you need to feel safe. You leave with clarity and a steady base to continue the intensive process.

Do you offer a free thirty minute call before I commit?

Yes. The call allows you to describe the situation and ask anything you need to feel grounded. Mixed neurotype relationships often feel complex. The call helps you understand the pace, structure and emotional safety of the intensive format so you can choose with confidence.

Do you offer any discounts or voucher cards?

Yes. After your first paid session you receive a ten percent digital voucher to use for the next booking. Many clients appreciate this support as they step into deeper work that takes time, energy and emotional presence.

Do you offer online intensive sessions if attending in person is difficult?

Yes. Online intensives are often ideal for neurodiverse clients who feel overloaded by travel or sensory environments. The screen gives you steady access to support so you can focus on understanding the pattern, regulating your system and moving through the work without overwhelm.

Are sessions confidential even though my partner is not present?

Yes. Everything you share stays private. Mixed neurotype dynamics can involve shame, fear, masking and emotional overload. Confidentiality gives you the safety to explore your part of the pattern without judgement so you can act from clarity instead of survival mode

How does intensive neurodiverse therapy differ from weekly sessions?

Intensives offer deeper focus and continuity. There are no long gaps between sessions, so we stay close to the emotional truth of the dynamic. This helps you understand your reactions, see the pattern clearly and influence change faster than weekly therapy often allows.

Can I book evenings or weekends?

Yes. Many people choose intensives for the flexibility. I offer extended hours so you can work deeply without being limited by work, energy levels or life demands. This helps you stay in the emotional process without long gaps that break momentum.

Can I speak with you in English if I am an international client?

Yes. Many neurodiverse or mixed neurotype clients are expats. Living abroad can intensify relational stress. I help you understand the emotional and sensory dynamics so you can respond with clarity and feel more grounded even during difficult moments.

What if I feel ashamed to start therapy without my partner?

This is very common. Many people begin alone because the partner feels overwhelmed, avoids conflict or shuts down easily. Working alone helps you stabilise, gain insight and influence the relationship from a grounded place. Change often begins with one person who feels safe.

More frequently asked questions

What if I have tried therapy before and it did not help?

Many neurodiverse clients have had disappointing therapy experiences. Sessions may have moved too fast or misunderstood sensory and emotional patterns. Intensives let us stay with the core dynamic long enough for real understanding to develop. For many, this is the first time therapy feels effective.

Can intensives help if my partner shuts down, withdraws or masks?

Yes. Shutdown is usually an overload response, not rejection. We explore what triggers it, how your reactions affect the shutdown and what you can shift. When you learn how to regulate yourself and reduce pressure, the dynamic becomes calmer and communication becomes more possible.

Can intensives help if misunderstandings escalate quickly?

Yes. Misunderstandings often escalate in mixed neurotype relationships due to sensory overload, pacing differences or misread cues. Intensives give us time to slow the moment, make sense of reactions and help you choose responses that support repair rather than escalation.

What if I feel emotionally exhausted from the relationship?

Emotional fatigue is common when you carry the responsibility for understanding the dynamic. We explore how the emotional load developed, how it affects you and how to step out of it without abandoning the relationship. You learn how to protect your energy and act from steadiness.

What if I still feel love but do not know how to move forward?

This is a central reason people choose intensives. You may feel connected but overwhelmed. We explore what your heart needs, how your nervous system reacts and what the relationship can realistically hold. You leave with clarity grounded in truth rather than fear or confusion.

How do I know if I should move into full neurodiverse couples therapy later?

You will feel it when you have enough stability and clarity to bring your partner into the process. I help you sense the right timing so joint work becomes productive rather than overwhelming. Your readiness guides the path, not pressure.

How do I know when it is time to end therapy?

You will know it is time to end when you feel steadier, clearer and more capable of navigating the relationship without losing yourself. Ending therapy is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that you trust your emotional tools and feel strong enough to move forward on your own terms.

Can I book more than one intensive cycle?

Yes. Some clients complete one cycle and choose another once the first layer of work settles. Intensives can be spaced out or done consecutively depending on your emotional capacity and the depth of what you want to explore. You always guide the pace.

How will I know if the intensive work is helping?

You will feel more regulated, less reactive and more able to understand your partner’s emotional and sensory world. You gain clarity about your needs and your limits. Patterns that once felt chaotic begin to soften, and you feel more grounded and less alone in the bond.
